Did she take the obstacle 21D correctly?

Sofia Sjöborg didn't know herself. The judges seemed uncertain and handed out 15 penalty points only after the finish.

Sweden filed a protest – which was rejected.

The Swedish eventing riders are performing in line with expectations.

We have three very promising horses, which feels great when you have the terrain behind you. From what I've seen, all the horses look fresh, says Louise Romeike ahead of Monday's decisive show jumping.

Individually, she is 25th.

Of course, the starting position would have been even better if Sjöborg hadn't incurred the penalty points. Then the team would have been fifth.

But the Swedish protest, handled by a competition jury, was rejected. The jury is led by Swede Christina Klingspor.

Full score on Box Leo

Frida Andersén achieved a full score on Box Leo, a faultless ride and also within the allowed time.

This is the coolest thing I've done. He loved every second out there, says Andersén, best-placed Swedish rider in 20th place.

Sofia Sjöberg was the first Swedish rider to complete the maximum time and finished 37th. Despite the blunder with the penalty points, she was ecstatic after her Olympic Games debut. Bryjamolga vh Marienhof – or simply "Belle" – navigated the 5,147-meter long and demanding course.

We've been conditioning her quite a lot since we thought it would be intense. It really showed out there, but she finished very fresh. It was just great.

A memory for life

The experience in Versailles' lush castle park is a memory for life.

The audience is absolutely fantastic. They cheered us on the whole way around. It's the first time I've really heard the audience, says Sjöborg.

Louise Romeike, who rides Caspian, says roughly the same.

The audience carried us through the competition. I even heard many Swedes. As soon as you galloped, the spectators roared. Fantastic.

Michael Jung leads individually ahead of the show jumping. The German has the opportunity to make Olympic Games history if he succeeds in taking his third individual gold. No one has done that before.

Great Britain leads the team competition, ahead of France and Japan.
