England's men's national team is chasing its first title since the World Championship gold in 1966.

Now, Prince William is sending a greeting ahead of the European Championship final.

The prince – who will be in attendance at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin on Sunday – is sending his greetings via his social media:

"We are so proud of you. Now only one final effort remains to finish this off. Go out and show the world what you can do. We believe in you."

After the dramatic semifinal against the Netherlands, which substitute Ollie Watkins, who normally plays for the prince's favorite team Aston Villa, decided in extra time, the British royal family sent their congratulations.

William's father, King Charles III, also sent a humorous greeting to national team captain Gareth Southgate and his squad.

"I would like to encourage you to settle the match earlier, so that no goals are needed in the last minute or a penalty drama. I'm sure the nation's collective heart rate and blood pressure would be significantly alleviated. Good luck, England."

The English men's national team is chasing its first European Championship title and revenge for the disappointing penalty loss at home to Italy in the last European Championship final, 2021. Spain has previously won three European Championship titles.

England will face Spain at 21.00 on Sunday.
