It is completely obvious that we must do very much more and dare to test new tools, she says to the newspaper.

Previously, the party has been strongly critical of the bill, which was formally presented by the Tidö parties last month.

The turnaround was decided at a meeting on Tuesday afternoon. According to Teresa Carvalho, it is because the objections that the party and other critics have had have been addressed.

An earlier version of the proposal was rejected by the Law Council last spring, citing risks to legal certainty.

Since then, the governments have made several changes. Among other things, it has been written into the law text that other measures to protect the witness must be inadequate or significantly more difficult to implement.

We are prepared to do what is required, as long as it is legally secure and effective. We assess that with the adjustments made, the reasons for saying yes weigh heavier than saying no, says Carvalho to Expressen.

In connection with the voting on the proposal in the Riksdag, S will also submit a follow-up motion.

We will propose stronger witness protection, but also that we want the law on anonymous witnesses to be evaluated after a period of time.
