The USA has announced a reward of up to 10 million dollars, equivalent to approximately 105 million kronor, for tips about foreign individuals or groups attempting to influence American elections.
The announcement comes with only weeks left until the presidential election on November 5.
In a statement from the Foreign Department, the Russian media organization Rybar is pointed out, which, according to the department, uses social media to "create discord, promote social division, fuel party-political and racist discord, and encourage hate and violence in the USA".
Neither Rybar nor Russian authorities have commented on the claim.
The Foreign Department states that Rybar is financed by the Russian defense industry organization Rostec, and that it has established a channel on X to exploit the issue of undocumented migrants crossing the border to Texas. Rybar is also said to have tagged social media posts with immigration-critical messages to spread pro-Russian propaganda.
