The world number one in tennis, Jannik Sinner, showed a positive doping test on two separate occasions in March.
According to tennis's international testing organization, ITIA, the test showed positive for a metabolite of clostebol, a banned steroid according to WADA's regulations.
Despite this, he is cleared of suspension, according to a press release.
According to the organization, the 23-year-old was temporarily suspended on both occasions when the tests showed positive, but after appeal, he was let off both times. The explanation was that he had ingested the banned substance in connection with the treatment of a wound.
Instead, he was stripped of both the prize money and ranking points he had earned during the major tournament in Indian Wells in California during the same period.
