China and Australia's differences are to be addressed, announces China's Prime Minister Li Qiang after a meeting with Australia's Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Monday.
The relationship between the countries has been frosty since 2020 when Australia's government, among other things, stopped the Chinese technology giant Huawei from getting a 5G contract in the country.
During Monday's meeting in Adelaide, several difficult issues were brought up, including trade barriers, conflicts in international waters, and China's desire to invest in key minerals.
According to Li Qiang, the relationship is "on the right track towards steady improvement and development".
Anthony Albanese describes the talks as "constructive".
"Australia advocates that we all work together to promote a regional balance where no country dominates and no country is dominated", he says.
