Five men are detained on suspicion of, among other things, preparation for murder in Gävle and aggravated weapons offenses, local media report.
Several of the suspects are known to the police from before and have connections to criminal motorcycle gangs.
The suspects, who are between 16 and 30 years old, were detained on Friday by the Gävle District Court. During the past weekend, the men's presence in Gävle stood out – something that led to the police taking notice of them.
This leads to the police starting investigative work and making observations that lead to arrests and detentions, says prosecutor Joakim Johansson to P4 Gävleborg.
The men are, among other things, from Stockholm, Östergötland, and Värmland.
A sixth person, a woman, has been released but is still suspected of a crime.
