Israel's Defence Minister Yoav Gallant says that they have made "significant progress" on the issue, described from an Israeli perspective as the US's failure to deliver weapons to the country, according to several media outlets.

The statement came after Gallant met with the US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan at the end of a trip where he had previously met with the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defence Minister Lloyd Austin.

During the meetings, we have made significant progress, obstacles have been removed, says Gallant.

Progress has been made on "a range of different issues", according to the Defence Minister.

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has recently openly accused the Biden administration of slowing down weapons deliveries to Israel. US officials have repeatedly denied the claim, saying it is only one delivery that has not been sent.

The White House announced after the meeting that Sullivan "confirmed President Biden's commitment to ensuring that Israel has everything it needs to defend itself militarily".
