Gangland criminals manipulate digital systems and deceive themselves out of at least 5 billion Norwegian kroner – equivalent to approximately 4.9 billion Swedish kronor – every year, warns the Norwegian authority Nav.
Nav, which also handles the social security system, is calling for closer digital cooperation with, among others, the police to combat fraud.
The Norwegian police have also recently warned that organised crime swindles the state out of billion amounts annually.
