The battles in Gaza continue and Israel's military claims to have carried out airstrikes in northern Gaza – and killed dozens of Hamas fighters.

The operation in Shejaiya began as early as Thursday night. Hamas' armed branch, the al-Qassam brigades, reports that it is involved in the battles. According to their information, there are also "dead and wounded" Israeli soldiers.

Witnesses also report artillery fire in Nuseirat in central Gaza on Friday.

The Iran-backed Shia militia Hezbollah in Lebanon is also said to have launched several attacks against Israeli military positions, and one of the group's fighters is reported to have been killed in Israeli gunfire.

The medical situation remains critical in Gaza. The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that 32 of Gaza's hospitals have been damaged since October 7, when the war began. Only two hospitals are undamaged.

At the same time, the US Department of Defense, the Pentagon, reports that the floating pier built to bring in aid has been moved from Gaza's coast due to high waves and will be towed to an Israeli port.

This is the third time the pier has had to be disconnected due to weather conditions since it was installed in May.

There is no forecast for when the pier can be put back in place again.

The distribution from the pier has also been a problem. For example, the UN's World Food Programme (WFP) has paused its deliveries via the pier after Israel carried out a military operation in the area, in connection with the country freeing four hostages.
