Criminal gangs should not be able to start businesses anywhere within the EU, think the Liberals, who want to see a European ban on criminal gangs.

The party refers to the fact that it is currently possible to start a business in other EU countries even for someone who has been banned from running a business in Sweden. According to Europol, criminal networks often hide behind businesses to appear legitimate, emphasize the Liberals.

Party leader Johan Pehrson presents several proposals to restrict the freedom of movement of gang members at a press conference in Malmö. Among other things, the Liberals believe that fines and debts from criminal gangs should be able to be collected regardless of which EU country they are in.

The possibility of issuing residence bans for criminal gangs should also be expanded so that it does not only apply to areas within Sweden but also to other EU countries, believe the Liberals.
