When the 94-year-old woman died in her home in Strömstad, there were initially no suspicions of crime. But a mobile phone film that was later shared on the internet showed that she had been suffocated to death.
The Court of Appeal is now upholding the life sentence against a former home care employee.
The man, who is in his 50s, has denied the murder and claims that the mobile phone film, which shows him wrapping plastic around the woman's head, was taken on an earlier occasion.
The Court of Appeal for Western Sweden is, however, following the same line as the Uddevalla District Court and sentencing the man to life imprisonment for murder.
