At least 16 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli attack on a refugee camp in the city of Tulkarm on the northwestern border of the occupied West Bank with Israeli territory. This is reported by Palestinian authorities.
A resident of Tulkarm tells AP that a café in a three-story building was hit.
The Israeli military confirms that the army and air force carried out a joint operation in the area.
Violence on the West Bank has increased since the Gaza war began on October 7 last year. According to Palestinian health authorities, a total of 699 Palestinians have been killed on the West Bank in the past year. At least 24 Israelis have died.
