Louisiana has become the first American state to demand that the Ten Commandments be displayed in every public classroom, following the introduction of a new law.
According to the law, the Ten Commandments must be displayed in "large, easy-to-read typeface" in classrooms from nurseries to state-funded universities.
The controversial law in Louisiana, which is located in the part of the USA often referred to as the "Bible Belt", comes after the state switched from a Democratic governor to conservative Jeff Landry in January.
The Commandments must be displayed in classrooms from the beginning of 2025.
