After nearly 150 minutes – around three and a half matches – of ice hockey outside Örnsköldsvik, Modo finally got to celebrate the season's first away goal in SHL. In the middle of the second period, Johan Södergren reduced to 1–2 away against Brynäs, and less than a minute later, Måns Carlsson scored the 2–2 goal.
But that was the end of the fun for SHL's bottom team. Before the period was over, Anton Rödin gave Brynäs the lead, and 4:37 into the third act, Bobby Trivigno extended to 4–2.
In the final stages, Modo pulled out goalkeeper Olle Eriksson Ek, but the hunt for a reduction ended with Oskar Lindblom scoring his second goal of the evening into an empty net.
The loss was Modo's sixth straight and seventh overall in this year's SHL. The team is bottom with only five points from seven played matches. In the last six matches, Modo has a 4–23 goal difference.
We're still doing a lot of good things out there, but then there are obviously things we need to fix. We need to start winning matches, says David Rundblad to TV4 Play.
For Brynäs, it was their third straight win, with two in regular time. The newcomer from Gävle has 15 points and is seventh in the table after nine played matches.
