The construction company Skanska is to repair quay facilities at the Norfolk naval base in Portsmouth, Virginia, USA, according to a supplementary agreement. The contract is valued at 97 million dollars, equivalent to one billion kronor.
The work includes renovating structural components at the entrance to a dry dock by replacing pile systems, pile heads, cast-in-place concrete elements, concrete beams, and shock-absorbing pile systems, according to a press release from Skanska.
The work begins in November and is expected to be completed by the summer of 2027, according to Skanska.
