Stockholm Film Festival, will be held November 6-17, 2024 and is the biggest film event of the year in Sweden.

Celebrating 35th anniversary

The Stockholm Film Festival is celebrating its 35th anniversary and will mark the occasion with a film music concert, a photo exhibition, and other activities. This year, the festival will showcase 130 films from 50 different countries. There will be red carpet receptions, parties throughout Stockholm, and masterclasses with Steve McQueen.

Opening act

The festival will open with the drama comedy "Anora" by American director Sean Baker, who won the Palme d'Or in Cannes earlier this year.

Honorary guests

  • Among this year's honorary guests are the multi-award-winning Steve McQueen, who will show his film "Blitz" and receive the Stockholm Visionary Award.
  • Jesse Eisenberg will receive the Stockholm Achievement Award and show his latest film "A Real Pain".

SkyShowtime Rising Star Award 2024

The Stockholm International Film Festival announces the nominees for the SkyShowtime Rising Star Award 2024, celebrating new talents in film and TV. Six young Swedish actors are nominated, and the winner will be announced on November 15 and rewarded with a trip to the Cannes Film Festival in 2025.
