The Swedish government has entered into a so-called declaration of intent to purchase sea mines, reports the Ministry of Defence to TT.
The declaration of intent is signed together with a number of European countries and is intended to form the basis for, among other things, joint procurements and cooperation on sea mines in the Baltic Sea.
"The goal is to explore areas of cooperation, for example, in procurement, joint storage, logistics, and maintenance. Further development of mines together can also be a result of the declaration of intent", writes Defence Minister Pål Jonson (M) on X.
The declaration of intent was signed on Tuesday in connection with the NATO summit in Washington. A total of eleven countries in Northern Europe are participating in the cooperation, including Germany, Finland, Norway, and Denmark.
