The woman, who is named Lisa Jeanine Findley, is alleged to have constructed a complicated plan to make money from Graceland and several items that belonged to Elvis Presley.
By using fake identities, Findley claimed to represent a bank – which was actually fictional – and that Elvis's deceased daughter Lisa Marie Presley had taken a loan from the bank of 3.8 million dollars. Furthermore, Findley claimed that Lisa Marie Presley had not repaid the loan before her death, and that she had used Graceland as collateral.
Findley is suspected of subsequently demanding money from the Presley family for the unpaid loan by proposing a settlement. She is also believed to have published an ad in a newspaper, announcing that Graceland would be auctioned off on a specific date.
However, no sale took place, and Findley has now been arrested, suspected of, among other things, fraud and identity theft.
The Graceland mansion is located in the American state of Tennessee and was home to Elvis Presley for several years. The property opened as a museum and tourist attraction in 1982, five years after the artist's death.
