In Vipers from Kristiansand, Jamina Roberts, Carin Strömberg, and Nina Koppang play. Roberts and Strömberg are likely to be included in the squad for the European Championship, which starts on November 28. However, it is uncertain whether Koppang will be able to recover in time after a meniscus operation.

But what happens if the club goes bankrupt is unclear. Many more handball stars who are to play in the European Championship play in Vipers.

What matters is that the Kristiansand club must bring in 25 million Norwegian kronor (24 million Swedish kronor) by Friday. Otherwise, a bankruptcy application will be submitted on Monday.

Vipers has had poor and partly very poor economy for a long time. It cannot continue. We must bring in 25 million before Friday for there to be a reason to continue running the club, says club chairman Peter Gitmark at a press conference according to NTB.

The economy has been poor for a longer period. In February, bankruptcy was avoided at the last minute, and as recently as August, Vipers managed to keep the club afloat for a while.

On the handball court, the Norwegian club has been very successful and won the Champions League three years in a row between 2021 and 2023.
