On its website, Rosengård announces that Sjögran is leaving after the season. She has been part of the club for almost 25 years – as a player and later as sports manager. In total, she has been involved in nine Swedish Championship gold medals, the latest of which was secured earlier in October.
But now the 47-year-old is leaving the club.
"Women's football will grow and change enormously in the coming years. I want to be part of that journey and am looking at different opportunities. I will leave a club that I have been incredibly proud to represent. But everything has its time and everything good comes to an end. Now I'm looking forward to new challenges", says Sjögran.
Which new challenge she is referring to is not yet official. But according to The Athletic, Sjögran will become the new football manager at the English top club Manchester City. A club that has been without a football manager on the women's side since June when Nils Nielsen left.
Rosengård writes that they have already recruited a new sports manager who will be presented shortly.
"Therese's merits as a player and sports manager speak for themselves. Many dream of a title, but Therese's winning mentality makes her want to win every match, which leads to many titles. Therese always puts the team first and demands that the entire organization and squad deliver", says Rosengård's chairman Håkan Wifvesson.
