Five men are being prosecuted for having smuggled large quantities of hash and cocaine from Sweden to Norway. A Swedish man in his 20s was responsible for the transport – which took place with a pulk over the border into Trysil municipality.
The other four, between 29 and 32 years old and residing in the Oslo area, are said to have had other roles in the operation.
According to the indictment, the smuggling took place in February 2022, but long processing times have meant that the trial is not expected to begin in Østre Innlandet district court until March next year.
There have been several similar cases in Innlandet in recent years, says national prosecutor Jo Christian Jordet to TV2, referring to the Norwegian county bordering Dalarna, Jämtland, and Värmland.
In July, two men were convicted of having smuggled in 95 kilos of hash in another border municipality – also on that occasion with a pulk – as part of the same case.
