When Ukraine's military better integrates new technology into its forces, Russian forces will likely feel pressured to try to do the same.

This is a must for maintaining technical and tactical parity, according to ISW.

The US-based think tank Institute for the Study of War (ISW) takes up in its analysis comments from Russian military bloggers complaining about how superior Ukraine's drones are on the battlefield. A blogger claims that Ukraine's drone usage is the "leading factor" in Ukraine's ability to repel Russian offensive actions.

One reason appears to be that Ukrainian soldiers have a significant advantage in terms of the number of drones and drone operators. Ukraine also has specialized and centralized drone units within existing ground forces, which enables better integration of reconnaissance and attack drone functions into tactical maneuvers.

Specialized Ukrainian drone units have targeted and destroyed unarmored Russian armored equipment in the Avdiivka area, which is hindering the Russian offensive in the area.

Russian forces, on the other hand, lack a centralized delivery mechanism from the Defense Ministry and soldiers have access to drones on a voluntary basis.

Russian representatives have previously expressed a need for Russia to centralize its capacity for drone warfare, including Dmitri Rogozin, former head of the Russian space agency.
