Up to 100 people have been killed in an attack on a town in central Sudan, according to the local network Madani Resistance Committee, which works for democracy in the country.
The paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) attacked the town with heavy artillery in two rounds, according to the activist group.
On social media, the Madani Resistance Committee has shared pictures of what they claim is a mass grave on the town square.
Civil war broke out in Sudan in April last year, when the former cooperation partners within the army and RSF began to fight against each other.
Officially, around 14,000 people have been killed in the conflict, but the actual death toll is believed to be much higher.
