In the shadow of more media-covered gang wars, a violent conflict has raged in Norrköping. Enemy lists have guided torpedoes who have shot, blown up, and set fires.

On Wednesday, the trial against a young woman suspected of having shot and killed a boy with multiple shots to the head began.

On December 20 last year, a 17-year-old boy was shot to death in broad daylight in Norrköping. He was at the tram stop in the Marielund district to sell a pair of headphones.

When the woman who responded to his ad arrives, she allegedly pulls out a pistol and shoots him in the face at close range.

The murder takes place in front of a large number of shocked witnesses. Two weeks later, a 19-year-old woman from Gävle is arrested. She smiles confidently into the camera when the police take her picture.

In her home, a headphone box with the same serial number as the one the victim had put up for sale is found. The last message between them was sent just seconds before the shot was fired. Her journey to the crime scene is captured by the tram's surveillance camera.

Enemy lists

In a seized phone, the police find a list of "enemies" spread by what is called the Kalonetwork with its base in the Hageby and Navestad districts. There are names and addresses, including details about floor plans and doors, of people linked to a rival network based in Marielund.

At the top is the murdered 17-year-old, described as their "youngish" (youth, ed. note). According to the police, all individuals on the list have been subjected to serious crimes.

During 2023 and 2024, a large number of serious incidents have occurred in Norrköping, including bombings, shootings, murders, and attempted murders, says prosecutor Anna Hjorth during her presentation.

The now 20-year-old woman is also charged with attempted murder for a shooting at an apartment where another person on the list lives.

The opposing side also has a list of enemies, one of whom was shot and killed on November 27, 2023.

Two co-defendants

According to the prosecutor, there have been around 20 violent incidents and attempts since last May, including shootings, bombings, kidnappings, and attempted arson, linked to the conflict.

The trial has been moved to the Stockholm District Court for security reasons.

The 20-year-old woman admits through her lawyer Viktor Banke that she fired the shots through the apartment door, but denies attempted murder.

She also denies the murder and claims that she met the 17-year-old and was at the scene, but that someone else fired the shots.

In addition to her, a 16-year-old boy and a 24-year-old man are charged with attempted murder and serious weapons offenses.

The case involves several violent incidents in the fall and winter of 2023 linked to the conflict between the so-called Kalonetwork with its base in Hageby/Navestad and a network based in the Marielund district.

November 15: Several shots are fired at an apartment door. Eight people are in the apartment, including children and a young man whose name is on the Kalonetwork's enemy list. The woman and the 24-year-old man are charged.

November 16: Shots are fired at an apartment door in another part of town. Five people are in the apartment, including a young man whose name is on the same list. The man and the 16-year-old boy are charged.

November 27: A 22-year-old man is shot and killed at a restaurant in Norrköping. The victim is suspected of involvement in the shootings on November 15 and 16 and is linked by the police to the Kalonetwork.

December 18: Four masked individuals try to break into an apartment building where a person on the enemy list lives by smashing a brick through the door. On the same day, a young woman visits a family whose son was recently released after being detained for the murder on November 27.

December 20: A 17-year-old boy is shot and killed on the street in Marielund. The boy's name is on the Kalonetwork's enemy list.
