The heavy metal band Iron Maiden's former singer Paul Di'Anno has passed away, 66 years old, writes Norwegian Dagbladet.
The record label Conquest Music writes on Di'Anno's Facebook page that on behalf of the family, they confirm that Paul Andrews, which was his real name, passed away on Monday at his home in Salisbury in the United Kingdom.
Di'Anno was Iron Maiden's singer on the first two albums and active in the band between 1978 and 1981, when he was replaced by Bruce Dickinson.
After Iron Maiden, he played with bands like Battlezone, Killers, and Gogmagog. Di'Anno released his latest album, "The book of the beast", just a few weeks ago, which is a compilation album with songs from his career.
Di'Anno struggled with declining health in recent years, but still toured and performed in a wheelchair.
