Richard Ashcroft, the former frontman of the rock group The Verve, is to act as the opening act for Oasis during their reunion tour in the UK and Ireland next year.
"I'm ready. See you next summer. Music is power", says Ashcroft in a statement quoted by NME.
The singer-songwriter will appear as a "special guest" and open for Oasis' sold-out concerts, which include seven nights at Wembley in London and five shows at Heaton Park in Manchester.
According to The Independent, the indie rock band Cast will also be guest artists during the summer tour.
The international part of the tour begins on August 24 in Toronto and then continues to Chicago, New Jersey, Los Angeles, and Mexico City with the American band Cage the Elephant as the opening act.
