The podcast "When we were kings" is shutting down. The podcast, led by football journalists Erik Niva and Håkan Andreasson, will be broadcast for the last time on March 26, 2025.
"We have always felt that there is a limit to how many socially anchored three-minute stories about football can be told – and now that limit has been reached", say Niva and Andreasson in a press release.
Niva and Andreasson note that the risk of starting to repeat themselves had become high if the podcast had continued indefinitely:
"Therefore, we choose to stop now, while we ourselves feel that the quality flag is still flying all the way to the top".
"When we were kings" premiered in 2019 and has, among other things, gone on tour. It is Sweden's second-largest sports podcast, according to Poddindex.
