"Lego Horizon Adventures" is based on the first game in the series, "Horizon: Zero Dawn" from 2017, and is primarily aimed at children, unlike the original.
But if you're paying attention, you'll notice, just like in Lego movies, that there are subtle lines that may be more intended for parents or teenagers, says design chief Stephane Varrault.
The game has been developed by British Studio Gobo, in collaboration with Dutch Guerilla Games, and animation chief Luismi Herrera explains that all figures animated first were built in real Lego.
It was an incredible challenge to transfer that format, and try to do something that felt as authentic as possible, but we were after making it feel like real toys.

Like the original, archery is a given part of every battle, where the main character Aloy most easily defeats the plastic beasts by aiming at their weak points.
There are five difficulty levels, and if you want, it can really become challenging. But our hope is that the whole family can gather around the game, says Varrault.
