+ The walking star is on the hunt for gold

After five silver and bronze medals in EM and VM, Perseus Karlström is chasing EM gold. He has a championship gold medal from the team VM in April. He thinks it's great that it will be around 30 degrees warm when the walkers' 20-kilometer race is decided.

+ Dramatic race for the VM runner-up again?

Andreas Kramer, who was the runner-up in the 800m at the VM in the spring, made it to the semifinals at the EM with a margin of just two hundredths of a second.

He, who took the EM silver in 2018, said after the race that it's so close on the 800m that he doesn't take it for granted that he'll make it to the next round.

+ Sprint promise in the qualifying round of 100m

Julia Henriksson, who is approaching Linda Haglund's Swedish record in 100m and 200m, starts the EM with a qualifying round of 100m. She has been faster than Haglund's 44-year-old record (11.16) in May, with a time of 10.95, but the wind was too strong. Her personal best is 11.19.

Corrected: In an earlier version, three Swedish athletes were incorrectly listed in the 400m qualifying round. Kramer has previously made it to the semifinals in the EM, and it was against the wind that was too strong for Julia Henriksson.
