For the fifth time, Oslo will host the Biathlon World Championship. At the 2029 World Championship, there may be competitions even in the central parts of the Norwegian capital. The plan is to hold the mixed relay between the statues in Frognerparken, part of Vigelandsparken.
We want to bring biathlon to the people. The goal is to make the competition free and temporary shooting ranges will be set up. We will try to accommodate an extraordinary number of spectators, says Emelie Nordskar of the Norwegian Biathlon Federation.
The other competitions will take place at the ski resort in Holmenkollen.
Austrian Hochfilzen will host the 2028 World Championship. Finnish Kontiolahti, which also applied for World Championship hosting, still lacks World Championship arrangements.
The upcoming World Championship will take place in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, in February. The 2027 World Championship will be held in Otepää, Estonia.
