AIK's important win: "Now we just drive on"

AIK made sure to tighten up at the bottom of the women's premier league through a 1-0 win over Linköping. We're doing a lot of things very well, says goal scorer Beata Olsson.

After five straight losses, AIK took points against Brommapojkarna in the previous round.

And on Saturday came a long-awaited win, the first since June 16 (against Växjö).

As early as the fifth minute, the only goal of the match was scored after a fine AIK attack where Maja Johansson got past her defender on the left flank and passed the ball to a rushing Beata Olsson, who placed the ball in the net.

I knew she was fast and would be there when the ball came, says Johansson to Viaplay.

The match hero was, of course, very happy about the win.

I think we do a lot of things very well. It's nice that we can hold on after an early goal and we should have won by two or three goals, says Olsson to Viaplay.

"Now we just keep going"

AIK remains in second-to-last place, but now on the same points as Örebro, which is in a qualifying spot. But Örebro has not played its match in the 21st round.

When asked if AIK feels the pressure, Beata Olsson responds:

Absolutely, we've felt it for a long time. But now we just keep going and have a good atmosphere in the group.

AIK meets Örebro in the next round.

We like matches when there's a lot at stake, says Beata Olsson.

AIK has yo-yoed between the women's top division and the second tier on the 2020s and is a newcomer to the top division this year.

Two goals by Mimmi Larsson

Bottom team Trelleborg had 0-0 in 73 minutes against Djurgården. But it didn't become a third point in the women's top division for the newcomer. Djurgården's new acquisition Mimmi Larsson scored twice with a four-minute interval and the Stockholm team won away 2-0.

Thus, it is definitely clear that Trelleborg will not take a safe spot in the women's top division next year. And to a qualifying spot, where Örebro is currently, it is 13 points with five matches left to play.
