A 33-year-old man is sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of 17-year-old Emilie Meng in Denmark in 2016 and for serious crimes against two other teenage girls.

Emilie Meng disappeared without a trace one summer night in 2016 after getting off the train in Korsør on Zealand. She was not found until Christmas Eve the same year, murdered and dumped in a lake.

The court in Næstved sentences him for murdering and attempting to rape Emilie Meng in 2016 and for attempting to abduct and rape a 15-year-old girl in 2022.

He is also sentenced for long-term abduction of a 13-year-old girl last spring, whom he also subjected to serious violence and, according to the verdict, planned to murder.

Found the day after

The abducted girl was found by the police at the 33-year-old's home in Korsør the day after she disappeared.

He has admitted to assaulting her, but has denied rape and attempted murder. However, he is also convicted of attempted murder and rape.

When the 33-year-old was arrested for the crime against the 13-year-old, it did not take long before he was also suspected of murdering Emilie Meng, who disappeared from Korsør after a party night with friends in 2016.

He has consistently denied the murder of Emilie Meng. The court relies, among other things, on technical evidence, including the roll of tape found at the 33-year-old's home. Tape from this roll was used in the murder, the court states.

DNA traces on pants

DNA traces from the 33-year-old have also been found on Emilie Meng's pants, which were found near the lake where she was dumped. A new method has been used in the DNA analysis, and according to the court, this DNA trace is not sufficient as evidence on its own, but should be seen in conjunction with other evidence.

The 33-year-old was charged with raping the 17-year-old before the murder. The court finds it proven that his intention was to rape her, but not that he actually did so. Therefore, he is sentenced for attempted rape.

The man says that the verdict will be appealed.

The 33-year-old is sentenced to life imprisonment for crimes against three teenage girls.

He is convicted of murdering 17-year-old Emilie Meng and violating her grave, as he dumped her in a lake afterwards. The court does not find it proven that she was held captive for a long time or subjected to serious violence, but rather that it was his plan. Therefore, he is sentenced for attempted crimes.

He is convicted of threats and violence against a 15-year-old girl, whom he, according to the verdict, attempted to rape and abduct.

He is convicted of serious violence and traffic offenses, as he deliberately drove into a 13-year-old girl from behind. He is also convicted of long-term abduction of the girl, who was bound and held captive at several different addresses. According to the verdict, she was subjected to serious violence and a range of sexual and other abuses.

The 33-year-old is also convicted of possessing large amounts of child pornographic material and violating the knife law.
