Venice introduces new restrictions in the hunt to save the city from mass tourism.

Now, loudspeakers and tourist groups of more than 25 people are banned, reports the BBC.

Earlier this year, the city also introduced an admission fee for daytime visitors of five euros, equivalent to around 58 Swedish kronor.

Mass tourism to little Venice is seen as an increasingly acute problem for the city, whose canals annually attract millions of visitors. At the same time, the original residents are fleeing. According to calculations, there are more beds for tourists than for the permanent residents, writes BBC.

Last year, the UN agency Unesco warned that climate changes in symbiosis with massive tourism can lead to irreversible changes to the historic city.
