Vladimir Putin silences critics once again. A group of soldier wives, a war-critical politician, and an independent media channel are the latest victims.

Russia has labeled the women's organization Put Domoj with the stamp "foreign agent", reports news agency AFP. The designation is generally used by President Putin's regime to silence and marginalize dissenting thinkers.

Put Domoj, consisting mainly of wives of Russians mobilized to the battlefields in Ukraine, has several times led rare war protests in an effort to bring their men home. According to the Justice Ministry in Moscow, the group has worked to spread a "negative image" of Russia and its army.

Even one of the grassroots movement's leaders, Maria Andrejeva, is stamped as a foreign agent. So is politician Jekaterina Duntsova, who in March attempted to challenge Putin in the Russian election, as well as the independent media channel Sota – all for their criticism of Russia's war in Ukraine.
