Nighttime Russian robot and drone attacks have caused damage to power facilities in five Ukrainian regions, according to energy operator Ukrenergo.

At least 20 people have been injured, according to the Kyiv Independent.

Among the injured are several children and a pregnant woman, reported the newspaper.

According to Ukrenergo, it is a "massive and complex" attack on the regions of Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, and Ivano-Frankivsk. This is the sixth time since March that Russia has attacked power facilities on this scale, the company said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for increased arms deliveries from the West after last night's attacks.

"Total protection of the Ukrainian sky must become the norm," he wrote on X.

The world "knows exactly what is needed," the president said: more Patriot air defense systems, more F-16 planes, and "all necessary equipment" for Ukrainian soldiers.

However, most of the comprehensive attack is said to have been stopped. According to Ukraine's air force, 35 of 53 Russian robots were shot down, as well as 46 of a total of 47 drones.

During the night, five people were reported killed in connection with Ukrainian attacks in the eastern part of the Donetsk region, which is occupied by Russia. Reports from Russian authorities have not been confirmed by independent sources.

The Kremlin often accuses Kiev of indiscriminate attacks on civilians, while Ukraine claims to only bomb military targets.
