Knee problems for Eriksson – missed new match

The national football team's center-back Magdalena Eriksson was not in the squad when Bayern München beat Hoffenheim 5–1 in the Bundesliga. According to the German giant club, Eriksson has knee problems and the 31-year-old has not played since the victory in the super cup final against Wolfsburg on August 25.

Eriksson was on the bench for the entire premiere against Turbine Potsdam at the end of August, but has not been part of Bayern's squad for the last three matches – two in the league and one in the cup.

Not even national team colleague Linda Sembrant was included against Hoffenheim, but that was due to the centre-back being suspended after being sent off most recently against Leipzig.

The big match winner at home against Hoffenheim was star striker Pernille Harder with a hat-trick. The Dane scored 2–1 in added time of the first half, extended in the 57th minute and set the final score at 4–1. The match's final goal to 5–1 was scored by Sydney Lohmann in added time.

Julia Zigiotti Olme – the third Swedish national team player in Bayern Munich – was substituted in in the 89th minute.

The reigning champion Bayern Munich has started the Bundesliga with three straight wins.

In late October, Sweden will face Luxembourg in a double match in the playoffs for the European Championship in Switzerland next summer. With a win there, the winner between Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia awaits in a final and decisive double match.
