Over 30 Palestinian associations have signed a petition in support of Kristofer Lundberg, who risks being expelled from The Left Party for showing support for the terrorist-listed Palestinian PFLP, reports Dagens Nyheter.

”If The Left Party wants to replace the government in the next election, you will need our votes and your own activists with a base in movements”, write the 31 associations engaged in the Palestine movement in the petition sent to the party board on Monday, according to DN.

Several Left Party members have been in hot water for statements about the war in Gaza in recent months. Orwa Kadoura in Malmö and Ali Hadrous in Landskrona have left the party after being criticized for anti-Semitic statements. Kristofer Lundberg, chairman of the party association in Angered, Gothenburg, is currently suspended for having broken the party line on the issue of PFLP.

It is not clear when The Left Party will make its decision regarding Lundberg's future in the party.
