Taylor Swift in the stands as Kansas City won

Kansas City Chiefs began the NFL season in the same way as they ended the last one – with a win and cheered on by pop star Taylor Swift. The victory over Baltimore Ravens was, however, narrow, 27–20.

Two straight Super Bowl wins in the American NFL league are intended to become three this season for the pre-favorite Kansas City. The start of the American football season also went according to plan. Against Baltimore Ravens, it ultimately ended in a home win, 27–20.

For Kansas' big star, quarterback Patrick Mahomes, it was the fifth win in six matches against rival Lamar Jackson and Baltimore, but this one was very tight indeed.

Kansas did take a ten-point lead when Baltimore came back, and in the match's final seconds, it looked like Baltimore and Jackson could equalize with a pass to Isaiah Likely. However, video review showed that Likely did not land correctly with his foot in the end zone when catching the ball, and the match was definitely over.

In the stands, as expected, was pop star Taylor Swift, whose boyfriend Travis Kelce, apart from Patrick Mahomes, is one of the big stars in Kansas City. After being on tour in Europe, Swift will continue her concert tour in the USA and Canada in October.
